Electric Vehicle Meter Time-of-Use Rate (EVM-TOU) & Installation Rebate

Overview:

Install a separate EV-dedicated meter and sign up for the EVM-TOU rate to get lower electricity rates for EV charging during off-peak hours. Also, get up to $1,250 rebate for electrical upgrades required for the installation.

Key Requirements for Rebate:

  • Be a WMGLD customer in good standing

  • Provide:

  • Enroll in the EVM-TOU rate plan first

Important:
If you’ve received a rebate/free charger via the Charger Curtailment Program, you must wait until the 3-year agreement ends or pay the prorated charger cost to switch to the EVM-TOU plan.

NextZero Connected Homes

  • The NextZero Connected Homes program offers Wakefield residents incentives for enrolling qualifying EV chargers and other devices, allowing WMGLD to make brief, limited adjustments during peak electricity demand periods. Customers receive a quarterly bill credit for participation.

  • Customers who wish to enroll their EV Charger in the NextZero Connected Homes program cannot currently be enrolled in the Charger Curtailment Program or the EV TOU Program.
