    For commercial customers that have a gas service through WMGLD and/or are a large commercial electric customer (demand charge customer), feel free to inquire about our enhanced rebates through the WMGLD Custom Commercial Program. For small projects and smaller commercial customers feel free to check out our Prescriptive incentive programs in partnership with NextZero.

    NextZero helps Massachusetts municipal utilities in developing and delivering energy efficiency (EE) services to their commercial and industrial customers in the following ways:

    • Help commercial and industrial business to identify and implement energy efficiency(EE) projects in existing commercial, industrial, governmental, and institutional buildings.
    • Assist Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department (WMGLD) customers to reduce operating costs by incentivizing the identification and installation of EE measures.
