The HP-Res is an optional rate offered to WMGLD residential electric customers that utilize heat pumps as a primary or secondary heating source. It includes a discount on the Electric Distribution Charge during the heating season (November-April).

The rate is broken out into two categories:

1. Heat Pump All-Electric – HP-RES A ($0.03 discount per kWh)

2. Heat Pump while keeping fossil fuel – HP-RES B ($0.015 discount per kWh)

If you are a gas customer and enroll in HP-RES B, you will be switched from the Gas Residential Heat Rate to the Gas Non-Heat rate, which includes an additional $0.20 per CCF cost on gas used throughout the year.
